I'll be praying for all of you. Please post how the memorial goes. If it won't be too hard for you to do so.
I heard about Jeff's passing through a mutual friend Jeff and I had in Malvern. I looked online to see if I could find anything else about what had happened and ran across your blog. It's been just over ten years since I had seen or talked to Jeff. I moved back to California and we lost touch. He was a genuine guy and his awesome wit always made me laugh. I can definitely credit him with my introduction to much of the music I enjoy today. He will be greatly missed.
Sincerely,

"To our friend,
Present past and beyond
Even though you weren't with us too long
your Life is the most precious thing you can lose
While you were here the fun was never ending
Laugh a minute only the beginning
Jeffrey Allen Westcott, this one's for you
Ever get the feeling you can't go on
Just remember whose side it is that you're on
You've got friends with you till the end
If you're ever in a tough situation
we'll be there with no hesitation
Brotherhood's our rule we cannot bend
When you're feeling too close to the bottom
You know who it is you can count on
Someone will pick you up again
we can conquer anything together
All of us are bonded forever
if you die i die that's the way it is
To all my friends,
Present past and beyond
to all those who weren't with us too long
Life is the most precious thing that you can lose
While you were here the fun was never ending
Laugh a minute was only the beginning
Jeffrey my brother this one's for you." (Jason Matthew Thirsk of Pennywise)
Courtney, thank you for your words. I've read your blog here and am very glad Jeffery had surrounded himself with good friends. It's going to take alot of time for us to go on and regain some semblance of normality, but we will eventualy.
Again, thank you for all you have said/done/and continue to do for my family and for Samantha.
Keep in touch!
Peace!
Respectfully,
- John Westcott

Man, this is bad news. I was just sitting around tonight thinking about the one year I lived in Malvern, Arkansas in the early 90s. My family moved in next door to Jeff, and even though he was in 7th grade and I was in 4th, we became friends because we were into many of the same things (NES games, Stephen King novels, good music). We moved away after just that one year, but I always remembered hanging out with Jeff. When I thought of him tonight, I figured I'd look him up to see if he had an e-mail or Facebook, and I found out about all this. So sad.
My condolences for all the rest of his friends and family. I hadn't talked to Jeff in more than a decade, but he was always a great friend. His brother John was awesome, too - I remember all of us hanging out in his room while John demo'ed the latest and greatest videogames (Mario Paint and Actraiser at the time, heheh). They were just simple, great afternoons; that's how I'll keep remembering Jeff.
Anyway, hope posting this here wasn't a bother to you. Thanks for making the information available.
